Transparency and cooperation for projects with stray dogs in the municipality of Shtime.

After many complaints of our organization against municipalities in the region of Ferizaj for the lack of transparency in the treatment of stray dogs, today, the municipality of Shtime has decided to be cooperative and transparent in terms of CNVR projects and other projects that deal with the management and control of the current number of stray dogs in the municipality of Shtime.

Together with the chief of staff of the mayor of Shtime, Mrs. Edita Fazliu-Zeqiri, and the director for economic development, Mr. Kastriot Shabani, we signed the memorandum of cooperation for the advancement of animal welfare in the municipality of Shtime, as well as the undertaking of sustainable measures for the management of the population of dogs with and without keepers (owners).

Through this cooperation, our organization will support the municipality for the monitoring of CNVR projects in Shtime, and will notify the municipality of any monitoring visits carried out in projects undertaken by the municipality.

In addition to monitoring activities, our organization will support the municipality in drafting regulations for the management of companion animals with and without keepers (owners), and will assist the municipality in preparing awareness campaigns aimed at increasing animal welfare.

We thank the municipality of Shtime for the willingness to cooperate with civil society and citizens for sustainable and effective solutions in the case of stray dogs in Kosovo, as only with a transparent and sustainable work can we come to long-term solutions.
