Animal Rights Foundation Kosovo

In the photos below, you can see the work of one of the veterinarians (Adelina Rexhepi) contracted in the state project of CNVR (capture, neuter, vaccinate, release).

This is not the first case, nor will it be the last case that our activists encounter dogs with terrible wounds, caused by veterinarians licensed by KFVA and the Veterinary Chamber of Kosovo.

So, these veterinarians, for this horrible and criminal work, have been paid with public funds, and KFVA has not taken a single serious measure against these violators of the law, so that these cases do not happen in the future.

In addition, our activists have also encountered dogs with eartags who have given birth to puppies. As for the number on the eartag, it is not visible at all. So, one of the veterinarians, deliberately put eartags on dogs, without number, and declared them as sterilized, and even in this case was paid by citizens’ taxes. For that too, we will publish the facts very soon.

For some time now, we have called on the KFVA to take serious measures against abusive veterinarians, but unfortunately, apart from a few ‘suspensions’, no serious measures have been taken to hold these veterinarians accountable for the abuses they have committed.

KFVA, together with the Veterinary Chamber, by protecting abusive veterinarians, are extremely tarnishing the veterinary profession, and are also damaging the reputation of professional veterinarians, who do a really good job.

It is time that KVFA took serious measures to prevent animal abuse, for the purpose of material gain, as well as to seek legal responsibility for the abuses they have committed. If such criminal acts against animals are tolerated, then this will motivate other abusers to continue activities that endanger the welfare of animals.

It is intolerable for veterinarians who commit criminal offenses during the treatment of stray animals to be paid citizens’ taxes and not to have their licenses revoked.

We have filed criminal charges against abusive veterinarians but we still do not have any response from the legal institutions.

The puppy in the picture was sent to the vet by our organization, and is recovering from these terrible wounds.
