A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Animal Rights Foundation and KFVA, for the update of the animal registration database, to include the registration of companion animals, as foreseen by the Administrative Instruction (MAFRD) 02/2021 for the identification and registration of companion animals.

In the framework of this cooperation agreement, the Animal Rights Foundation, with the support of Mrs. Helen Wormser from the StrayCoco Foundation, will fund the addition of a component to the current KFVA database, to include the registration of dogs with keepers/owners.

The establishment of a central database is a key prerequisite for starting the registration of companion animals (dogs) with keepers/owners.

Registration of dogs with keepers is a more than necessary measure in Kosovo, as one of the main sources of increased number of dogs on the streets are the abandonment of dogs by unidentified keepers/owners, therefore our organization is committed to help KFVA to start as soon as possible with the registration of dogs with keepers.
