Animal Rights Foundation Kosovo

We are pleased that the Municipality of Prishtina has assessed the situation and initiated a project of CNVR (capture, neuter, vaccinate and release) of stray dogs in Prishtina.

Bitches (female dogs) will be treated with priority, to help reduce the breeding of stray dogs more effectively, as much as possible.
It is worth noting that for significant and sustainable reduction of stray dogs, there should be registration of companion animals and their holders and punishment for those who abandon animals, control of dog breeders and sellers as well as ongoing projects of CNVR.

The allocated value for the emergency project is 20,000.00 euros and it will last 3 months. The contracted veterinary entity will be ‘Crazy Pet’, DVM Dardan Pozhegu.

We as an organization will be alongside the Municipality and the winning veterinary entity “Crazy Pet”, with veterinarian, DVM Dardan Pozhegun, who specializes in treating small animals, meaning companion animals such as dogs.

Very often in Kosovo, for the treatment of dogs, non-specialized veterinarians are contracted with experience only in large animals. This needs to change because stray animals need professional medical care and treatment.

Anyone wishing to contact the veterinary subject, Crazy Pet, for unneutered bitches in their neighborhoods, call the number: 044248780 and the organization number 049444237 or email addresses: dardan.pozhegu@gmail.com and elza.ramadani@animalrights-rks.org

Citizens who have doubts about the aggressiveness of a dog should make videos of the dog, or, when calling the veterinary team, stay with them to show the potentially aggressive dog, in order to assess the dog’s potential aggressiveness and take measures to takem them off the street in case of constant danger to citizens.

We would like to inform you that unfounded threats and requests will not be considered. We need to be fair and help everyone in this work.

The whole process will also be under our monitoring as an organization (in a completely voluntary way) and many work processes will be published and reported to the citizens with great transparency.

We thank the Municipality of Prishtina and DVM Dardan Pozhegun for trusting us and including us in this project, in order to guarantee job transparency, ensure well-being and dignified respect for animal rights.
