Within the framework of institutional meetings on the situation of stray dogs, representatives of our organization met with the Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Elbert Krasniqi, to discuss sustainable and humane measures that Municipalities should take according to their legal responsibilities to reduce the number of stray dogs.

Minister Krasniqi has expressed readiness and interest to contribute to the solution of this problem within the legal responsibilities of the Ministry he leads.

We thank Minister Krasniqi for the meeting and conversation on the topic of stray dogs, and we hope that his work and that of other responsible institutions will result in humane and sustainable solutions for stray dogs, which will result in better welfare for dogs, but also in better public safety for humans.

Involvement of civil society in decision-making is a very important step in Kosovo, since given the many problems facing our country, the support of civil society is more than necessary.

Our organization will continue institutional meetings with the responsible actors, to provide support to the institutions for solving this problem.

Our organization is also in the process of creating a national strategy for the management of stray dogs, which will be presented to the Government of Kosovo in the coming weeks.
