The following public footage was taken from TikTok and it is clear that the boys (maybe even minors) are deliberately chasing the dogs and harassing them for no reason whatsoever.

Dogs, like most animals, have a strong instinct to recognize the danger that threatens them and the negative, abusive and hateful behaviors of people or the district where they live, so they often become aggressive especially in the neighborhoods or places where they are most abused or traumatized.

Our organization is a witness of the reality where stray dogs live peacefully as members of the community, precisely because they are cared for by the residents of the neighborhood and coexist very well with the people of that neighborhood. Being accustomed to the good behavior of people, they never show aggression. There are many examples of this. It does not mean that all community dogs are close and play with people but the most important thing is that they do not attack and feel safe with people. If the community becomes abusive, innocent people or children will suffer the consequences and will be bitten anyway by the dogs, because we as a society allow people like the ones in the video to become irritating and abusive.

The Municipality of Ferizaj is a municipality that has done suspicious work with stray animals because it has never reported on the “castration and sterilization” of dogs it has done since 2017. The Municipality of Ferizaj, together with the Municipality of Kaçanik, Shterpce and Shtime, have contracted the same veterinarians: Agzon Pajaziti and Mexhid Haxhimusa, allegedly to treat stray dogs with the CNVR method (capture, neuter, vaccinate, release) but for the completed projects there are almost no reports or inspections by veterinary inspectors.

The Food and Veterinary Agency never reacts and does not work in proper inspections and monitoring and from the fact that the same agency has delayed the Identification & Registration process for many years now, we have this uncontrolled situation of stray dogs and the situation where people have never been informed, despite the fact that the FVA in 2018 has allocated 111,000 euros apparently for awareness-raising and survey of citizens but without doing any work at all.

In regards to the video, we will nevertheless take possible legal measures to prevent such actions in the future and will inform the Ferizaj Police, who in our last meeting have expressed interest in cooperating to help the situation with stray dogs.

We urge everyone to help in such situations by talking to the residents of the neighborhood and preventing such negative and harrasing behaviour.
