John, the lion that was smuggled in Kosovo from Albania is still in Kosovo, at the “Maja e Zeze” resort in Gjilan (convicted for the smuggling of the lion).

Another place couldn’t be found for John and unfortunately still needs to stay at that place. However, the good steps are still to come.

FOUR PAWS, through their colleagues in Pristina, “Bear Sanctuary Pristina“, are taking medical/veterinarian care for the lion and advising the resort owners how to feed the lion. Apart from this, Four Paws and Bear Sanctuary Pristina are in the process to rescue the lion from the convicted resort and transport John to a sanctuary of Four Paws, in which he can live peacefully for the rest of his life.

The process of the transfer now depends on the Albanian officials. The Albanian state needs to prepare all documentation and together with Four Paws, rescue John, as soon as possible.
