On March 1 & 2, 2023, “FOUR PAWS International” and “Animal Rights Foundation” will organize the institutional workshop on the effective and humane management of the dog population and the reduction of their number on the streets from a central and municipal level perspective.
In this workshop, FOUR PAWS will share with us the experiences and successful measures from the countries of the region for dog population management, as well as proposals for the most effective implementation of the national strategy for dog population management in Kosovo.
The workshop will address the following topics:
– Effectiveness of humane measures for dog population management
– The importance of inter-institutional cooperation for effective management of the dog population
– Building institutional capacities
– Focus on the sources of the problem
We also publicly call on the responsible officials of local and central institutions to participate in this workshop, from which we hope they will receive the best advice for the most effective implementation of the ‘National Strategy for the management and control of dogs with and without owners’, approved by the Government of Kosovo on October 26, 2022.
We are lucky that FOUR PAWS has agreed to come to Kosovo to share their experiences in managing the dog population, and we heartily thank them for never hesitating to help animals in Kosovo as well!
